Conference Biomass and alternative fuels in the heating industry

The Biomass and Alternative Fuels Conference is an industry event dedicated to the energy and heating sectors in Poland, aimed at building business relationships and sharing specialist knowledge.

Participants at the event will discuss the new strategy for the heating sector and the significant challenges it presents. Decarbonisation, modernisation and financing – these are the three key topics in this discussion.

Which fuel will be the best choice for a given installation? How is the market for alternative fuels developing? How can financial support be secured for the modernisation of a district heating company? We will be addressing these questions during the 8th Biomass and Alternative Fuels Conference – a gathering of the district heating industry, also aimed at representatives of the biomass, energy and waste sectors.

This year, the industry will meet on 6–7 October in Grudziądz, where, in January this year, a steam cogeneration unit utilising loose straw to produce heat and electricity was commissioned at the local OPECU site. This is the first installation of its kind in Poland, and conference participants will have the opportunity to tour it during a study visit scheduled for the second day of the event.

The industry meeting is addressed to:

  • representatives of heating companies
  • representatives of energy companies
  • producers and suppliers of biomass
  • government administration and local governments
  • waste sector
  • suppliers of technologies for district heating
  • industry institutions
